Remembering Roei
Roei Ben David z"l
Roei, the eldest and much-loved son of the Ben David family, was born on the 25th of Kislev 5779, 3 December 2018.
Roei was a child unlike any other: an enormous heart, a pure soul, and a wide smile that lit up every room he walked into. He loved helping his parents, his friends and anyone around him, and he carried a rare combination of kindness, modesty, wisdom and sensitivity.
He was a devoted big brother to Noy, his little sister. Despite the gap in their ages, they were close in a way all their own, full of games, laughter, sharing, and small moments of love.
Roei loved puzzles and board games. He excelled at school and was a curious, clever child with remarkable ability. When he started first grade he went on standing out, an outstanding pupil, well loved, eager to learn and to succeed.
Alongside all of this, Roei was deeply connected to tradition and to Jewish values. He loved Shabbat, took joy in the mitzvot, and carried within him a simple, pure faith.
On Saturday night, the 7th of Shvat 5786, 24 January 2026, an unbearable tragedy struck the family. Roei was killed in an ATV accident and taken far too soon, at just seven years old.
Since he left, Roei has left an immense emptiness in the hearts of his family and everyone who knew him. His memory, his smile, his kindness and his love stay with them every single day.
Out of that great pain, the family chose to carry on the light Roei left in the world through good deeds, giving and helping others. The work of the soup kitchen is dedicated to his memory, and every hot meal that reaches someone who needs it continues Roei's way, a way of heart, compassion and kindness.
May his memory be a blessing.
